Searching with Job

Reading and studying the book of Job is itself an introduction to this love, and to the wisdom of this love. This book is a storm of words and ideas and people, and they don’t sit still quietly in their seats. They are abrupt, contradictory, and argumentative. Here, we are invited to walk with Job as priest, struggle and fight with him and his friend as kings searching for truth—searching for God—and finally we, like Job, come face-to-face with Yahweh in the whirlwind. For those who have ears to hear and eyes to see, Job is a powerful invitation to grow up into maturity, patience, and holiness through struggle, trial, argument, and prayer, looking for the glory of the resurrection in the power and love of the Holy Spirit.
